Things to See and Do in Phuket, Thailand

Phuket is the largest island in Thailand with more than 800.000 inhabitants. It located nearly 800 kilometers from the capital – Bangkok. Phuket was once an important trading center on the road between India and China. Nowadays it is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world and it equally visited by young tourists looking for parties and families with children because it has a lot of different things to offer.

There are many things to see and do when you are on Phuket but we are presenting you a short list that will certainly leave you satisfied.

Kata Beach – There are actually two separated beaches here but they both have amazing white sand. This place is very interesting, there are plenty of things to do and it is more suitable for couples and people with children because it doesn’t have a wild nightlife like Patong for example. There are few bars in Kata that play good music and it looks like Bob Marley is always popular on Thailand and in these bars. If you are looking for romantic sunsets Kata beach is the place you are looking for.

There is also a great theme park called Dino park for the kids.

Patong – When you are in Patong you will see Burmese street vendors, Nepali tailors, Thai travel agents and they will all try to communicate with you and show you what they have to offer. Be careful if you are not in a mood you should ignore them completely because they are very talkative. Unlike Kata Beach, patong is the right place for everyone that is looking for wild parties without any limits. There are parties here that last 24 hours a day.

Naiharn – This place has a beautiful small beach which can be reached by road along a small lake that makes this place look a little bit European. Naiharn is a little bit isolated so you will have to rent a car or a bike to get here, but it is worth it.

Rawai – The further you go south on Phuket the more you see traditional things that are completely different from the neon bars you can find on the north. Rawai is a charming fishing village that attracts tourists because of the fresh fish that is prepared in front of you. You can also hire a boat and visit one of the few amazing smaller islands that are near Rawai.

We hope that this is enough for you to make a decision to travel to Phuket!
